Maria F. Jimenez Ojeda is an artisan experienced in the traditional Oaxaqueño craft of “los alebrijes,” or intricately-painted wooden animals. Maria carves each piece by hand and then uses her colorful acrylics to paint incredibly delicate designs onto the figures.
